Hi Vivienne!
Acting – I did it in college and now too for my young son. Yes, we need to do different and unfamiliar things to grow in confidence. I took up this entrepreneurial garb, as full-time job puts me in the comfort-zone and never let me grow.
But, still, fear haunts me at times. Thanks for the wonderful sharing. They say- the bigger enemy we worry about is: ourselves. How true! Thanks for the sharing@

This is how I explain fear to my self and my kids too.

There is nothing wrong with fear or being afraid. Everyone feels this.

But, you can’t let fear control you – you have to do it anyway.

I believe “act in spite off” is for those with a strong will to over come every challenge in their life. So, even these people don’t believe they are strong, they aren’t weakling either. Strangely, Ghandi’s famous words come to mind now: ‘Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.’

Absolutely right in what you are sharing. “Act is spite of’ holds true in my own personal experience as a Project Manager of multi-million projects. To achieve success is impossible if we allow moods, circumstances, difficulties and challenges come in between. Truth be said, a few times I get into trouble by following this way but more of political reasons than the usual technical issues or human issues! Anyway I still strongly follow this path doing what my personal convictions dictates! Thanks for the great post! Totally enjoyed it.
