Business Slogan 31: When You Got It, Flaunt It.
A carefully crafted business slogan speaks volumes of it’s brand values and promises, successfully.
Guess who used this famous slogan:
“When you got it, flaunt it.”
Answer: Braniff Airlines (developed by Lois Pitts Gershon Pon in 1967).
This is an interesting slogan and I honestly did not know if it was paraphrased from a common saying or the line became a common saying because of it’s popularity as an advertising slogan.
For those who are interested to see the famous artist Andy Warhol and boxer Sonny Liston in the act, check out this old television commercial. Part of the dialogue goes like this:
“Because even an airline hostess should look like a girl.”
“They like our girls, they like our food, they like our style.”
“When you got it, flaunt it”
Braniff International was a pacesetting and pioneering airline that revolutionized the art of flying. Through their innovative use of art, fashion and advertising the Braniff name became synonymous with style and glamour in travel. The airline was associated with artistic celebrities like Emilio Pucci and Andy Warhol. I guess that how they can get th world renowned pop-art artist to do a TV commercial for them.
Braniff Airlines ceased operation on 12 May 1982 after sixty-four years in business.
